Between my shadow and my soul

How do you Know (It's MARRIAGE)

There's no recipe. But shouldn't there be signs at least. I'm not looking for anything, I have it all (Note to OH: In a non wanking way). Yet you should have a way of knowing. I don't.

Is it when:

The first impression at the first meeting is : "You are cute and I'm comfortable with you"

Hours on the phone whizz like a deflating balloon

After the call, you can't sleep.

After the call u feel content enough to sleep like a baby

He gets your messages

His replies trump yours

He knows things you don't

His one year objectives reach like yours

His jokes make sense

He has never been in a serious relationship. Like you

He reaches for the stars aiming at his potential instead of testing his limits by touching ground-zero

No one has all of these. What do I give up and what do I hold close to?
How did you Know?

I knew that I knew when I knew that if it were anyone else, I wouldn't have cared enough to try.

There's always gonna b some tradeoff... I wish I knew but i don't think u can pinpoint it. Saaleha seems to make sense tho.

I dont know if I'm gonna make any sense but it dawned on me one day into my relationship with my husband that this is the man Allah chose for me. He is my soulmate.

It was a feeling that came right away - I knew this was it. But we don't go on our feelings alone. Both of us made Istikhara to confirm things; because after all, Allah knows best. Reading the translation of that Istikhara dua, it's crystal clear that this is the best way of making big decisions.]

That's how you know whether to go for it or not; and you trust that whatever the outcome, it is for the best.

I'm sitting here in The Promised Land sipping on a Pina Colada - virgin of course :D

I have decided that The Almighty is in charge...so when "he" comes along, then Allah SWT will tell me..either in a dream or feeling or whatever.
But theres definitely definitely NO "looking" on my part...no kissing frogs etc. "he" will come to me, I will NOT go to him...and thats the deal I made with God.

You need Scotts Emulsion. You'll like it, it helps you grow :) (Hope you know this ad, or this comment is rather more nonsensical than it actually is.)

how do i know?

oh i never know. i see it coming head on and then i deliberately make an attempt to be bashed head on and then we both fall flat and the air is filled with laughter and joyful tears... and that is how i know there is nothin to know. I speaketh, "when target approaches at a speed faster than you, just accelerate or else you will be blown off"

There wasn't anything in particular that I pre-conceived as being a 'value' my future hubby would posess, but Shukar, I have found the soulmate which The Almighty has chosen for me.

FairygodSaals: sometimes i think there's somthing wrong with me when i dont wanna try. Like I'm not normal. But if you can't try now what's gonna hold a marriage together right

WiP- 3 words- flat in CT:)

Nafisa- erm not but maybe in a few decades it might :)

ayesha and let God be ur parachute :)

h- stands for hope...

kimya- maturity? how we gonna dance on rooftops then:( just jokes yeah it takes a lotta personal growth

dreamlife- may Allah swt always keep you Guided and full of wedded bliss

azmarita- i agree. but there's no magic "pop" where u have been "found". i wish there was. and with the choices u probably have it takes a lotta decision-making capability :)

waseem- if i start skipping do u think i'll grow taller?

seher hahaha i'm envious of ur accelerating experiences :)

tcq- welcome :) lots of ppl say preconceptions are bad. and they do tend to make one neurotic. at the end of the day Allah chooses what's best for us and our kids I guess

killa- and how would u cheat at this particular game :P

you know when you don't have to compromise yourself, when you have found the perfect balance between attractive and goofy, and when you don't mind that you don't have to look any further.
