The mourners sweep pavements with heartache
The one thing lost no one could break
The petals are dry her mhendi has faded
And yet until yesterday they had been radiant
So many miles her back was elevated straight,
These momentous steps someone else holds her weight
Tears splutter breathlessly, swallowing all air
Like our Laughter mercilessly slain to despair
The Soft Embrace of Forever

:( It really is terrible. Last night's incident was heartbreaking. Allah yarhamhu iA and may He keep us all safe.
InshAllah I will make dua. May Allah keep us safe always. And the feeling of safety.

khadija and dew- I wonder if du'a is enough. I also take refuge in it, but I am beginning to think that we should act on the injunction that Allah will not help a nation that does not help itself. If we all had military training we would be able to defend ourselves much better.
ayesha the poem refers to the incident on monday night where 12 men entered a Laudium resident's home, hit him and his wife repeatedly with the butt of a gun. took what they wanted and left. The man was rushed to hospital and died on arrival of a heart attack. His wife is still recovering from her facial and brain injuries. This is not a unique incident in laudium unfortunaltely. But i refuse to get desensitised
Thats is an absolute heart sore and tragic occurrence..
I actulayy kinda forgot about crime being away from home these past few weeks.
U just gave me a reality check..
May HE keep us safe at all times..
