Nooj

Between my shadow and my soul

Stepping stones to Tazkiyah (1)

What if each Salaah were a Lifetime
your Takbeer as your entrance into
an unfamilar realm,
Your qiyaam as a struggle
to come to grips with your existence
Facing inner evil, and instinctive Good,
Your ruku as your realisation
that worship is your Being,
Standing again as your commitment
to Worship in times of prosperity and strife
your journey to the floor as the inevitable
descent of man through his lower self
so natural and effortless,
your prostration as letting go of your Mind's distraction,
following your Heart's instinct to submit to Highness,
your hands grounded on the earth, you attempt to rise
your pause in qa'dah as a reflection of your deficiency,
and the transient re-emergence of your mind,
your prostration again as a homecoming to The One,
and your ascent again, a sign of His Mercy, rising us from stage
to stage, allowing us the capacity to Learn and Gain Power
To Fight and be Victorious, to claim the bestest of moulds,
and so you perform these motions again and again and again
Gaining confidence and mastery, the actions become effortless,
like how a child's walking and talking gain ease,
and yet the mind control becomes more intense,
Requiring more sacrifice more inner strength
Until the Time when you greet the Malaaikah
in your Kabr

We dont ever realise it Nooie...what a blessing Salaah is innit? I mean there you're sitting, in front of The Almighty. It's like an esteemed position to be in. Like we're visiting another realm without even realising it.
