Nooj

Between my shadow and my soul

And Meaning comes quietly

This is where we meet, a place

Far from quitting yet

not close to winning

When my shins bleed from

My angry march through

Thorn bushels and gnat nests

And my arms ache from days left alone

With the tides, their cotton wool

Balls of muscles breathing the rest

Of no more

Until after all this mindless feeling,

My eyes glimpse my kingdom

And I fall at Your feet

Forgetting those dark moments

Before the dawn saved my life

Pleading for more Time with

The rhythm of the sea now, and

The buzz of life in the woods

In the stinging and the burning

The motivation of still separating

My eyelashes, can never be

Left without heed

hey nooj :)

i do no justice to your poem to take a bite out of it, but i cnt help it -

'Until after all this mindless feeling,

My eyes glimpse my kingdom

And I fall at Your feet

Forgetting those dark moments

Before the dawn saved my life'

these words work wonders; and come very close to Rumi's effect when he says 'When I touch the ground in prayer, my only purpose is You.'

Beautiful piece, lady :)
