Between my shadow and my soul

A Setting Moon

She had the serenely round moon face of her mother
And the laughing light-filled eyes of her daddy
They hold them still, as well as
Over a thousand nights of nightmares, that aren't
Banished with the Dawn

They store the little moments, the
Totem poles, the fliers, her position on the couch
Her favourite teddybear, no matter where they are or
What they do, an intrinsic part OF them, their core of being
Can never Be Taken

It can only be left slowly to bleed and fester
In an open air field, full of doubt and anger,
Doomed to this punishment, for not
Picking up their socks and telling
Fate where to get off

Your tags are always so interesting and help provide a context to the reading.

i find it easier to be more straightforward in my tags. the writing is naturally abstract and not easily explicable. like the "pulling up their socks" is a reference her dad made in his argument that taqdeer doesn't explain everything. its more like jigsawed memories that i keep partly and share partly. just like your poetry :)
