Between my shadow and my soul

I'm at the Age where I realise Something's Missing...

And I know exactly what it is. A hobby. Somthing that gives me that shivery feeling.
I've tried a few things and nothing's really settled. Shooting, as fun as it is, is too aggressive and gunpowdery. Cooking, despite the Cool Feel of masala dhabba's, is too masie-ish. Cycling and all other sporty things fail because I'm not a natural athlete. Extreme stuff fail because they have no intrinsic meaning to me. Blogging and design are too PC-bound. Reading is too cliche.

I've done a quick review of the bloggers and their hobbies to help me out:

*Saaleha makes cards and calendars, Waseem and MJ play video games, Azra travels, WIP watches Summit TV, Kay hoards quotes and journals, Aasia does comedy, Azad has a directing fetish, ZubHab cycles, Dew draws and designs, Bilal gets imprisoned, Zesty baths Abdullah, Princess bakes cupcakes, Haniefa buys trinkets off the net, NK does pencil art, The Blogger hikes, BB drapes her scarf awesomely, OH swears, erm ok now I'm making up stuff.

The last time I did Art was in Grade 5 because in Grade 6 I cut out all non essential subjects to do Hifdh. But I was thinking maybe scrapbooking because I hoard letters and trinkets and stuff. Any suggestions (Yes, I've already got pole dancing instructor lets keep it to stuff I'll actually use in this life time)...

*Please forgive me for not linking everyone there seemed to be better stuff to use time on. If you want links check out my Viral Splotches.

my hobby is actually invading sovereign countries and imposing my ideology on the people :) Or maybe I heard that in Madagascar 2 :D

Dude, I do other things besides watch summit tv. I read, socialise selectively, ocassionaly engage in extreme activities. I used to love gym back when I had a life.

I find it strange that u have the time to notice that "something is missing". Ure one of those ppl who is always working on some or other project and I always wish I had more time to do all the stuff ure involved in.

pottery? i love pottery. that's my hobby. getting messy once a week ... it's a lot of fun! and to actually use your stuff around the house, that's even better (although my sister calls my little pinch bowls "constipated" hmph. it was my first try at pottery..i am improving lol)

I'd totally love doing an Arabic calligraphy course then adapting my knowledge to use oil paints. I messed around with oils and literally couldn't deal with the mess anymore. I'll carry on one day when I have a bigger place and extra space to just mess.

I also just like to take walks and relishing scenery.

Sampling coffees is a great hobby too :)

You know what Noojie bear? I LOVE travelling, but its not my hobby...it's more like my life. I travel through my life or I should say, I live my life like a traveller :D

I try not to stick to one hobby because I get bored easily. As a result, I have many different hobbies...which include photography, writing, reading, eating/cooking, swimming, going out/socialising etc.

I try new things every month when I'm on the LIVE campaign trail, and whatever I really enjoy, I add to my hobby list.

Good luck searching for your hobby :D

LOOOLLL- thats not a hobby you donut! thats a bleeding basic human requirement! Dya know how much babies smell from poops and wee and vomit? *rolls eyes*

Although, i do love bathing Abdullah- he just doesnt take very kindly to bath time. Not because he doesnt like the water- oh no, he loves the water. Its the taken off clothes and changing his nappy part he doesnt like. You should hear him! youd think i was torturing him or something :-(

Anyway, im not disciplines enough for a hobby unfortunately. I used to paint.. no more (although, hubs did recently by me wonderful gift: a blank canvas lol to get back into the painting). I did a year of photography and loved it.. but only the taking and developing pics part.. couldnt remember or be bothered with the technical stuff. Used to love gymming but wasnt really a hobby.. was just to de-stress. My hubs does archery and i wanted to start.. i fell pregnant! I love to write, but just dont apply myself or feel i have the time for it. I love to bake but my oven is evil. Its a conspiracy theory i promise.. it almost always burns all my cakes :-(

*sighh* i think Abdullah is one hobby that im going to keep up with :-) and i dont see myself giving up at all.

LOL at Paras- she does need a hubby.. then she can make him her hobby *cough- runs away*

my advice would be attempt activities at your disposal so that if theyre not what you enjoy then at least youre closer to whatever you do want to do.

im not a natural athlete but i have come to enjoy playing badminton/team related activities.

its also an age thing so dont fret...sounds like youre on the road to discovery already..by ticking off what you dont like.
