Between my shadow and my soul

Piracy or Communism

Dome of the Salah ud Din Ayoubi Mosque in Egypt- resembling Jung's idea of a Mandala

Jung and I divert on spirituality and other stuff. But sometimes he says the damndest of things!!
Like:

As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human
existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being

Every form of
addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol or morphine or
idealism.

The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect
but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays
with the objects it loves.

The pendulum of the mind
alternates between sense and nonsense, not between right and wrong.

What do you call it when you're thinking something and it jumps in front of your eyes? This is what happened when I read these quotes.

He would call it synchronicity, scientists would call it mere coincidence and I call it wow:)

I particularly like the last one

"The pendulum of the mind"

But what if the pendulum stops ? does that mean that we have reached equilibrium and clarity? os does it signify death?

hey kman is it?

that is a particularly significant one for all those passionate about religion and meaning. to me, it means that we follow a religion not only because it is the RIGHT thing to do but also because not to do so would make our lives simply nonsensical.

i feel that our pendulums never stop until we die, simply because throughout our lives we will be tested by "bad" elements within ourselves and the worlds we occupy, and that is what makes life challenging. is heaven not the penultimate a of equilibrium and clarity?
